Odessa is not a majority Russian city. Hasn’t been for almost a century. And speaking Russian language doesn’t make you ethnically Russian. Just as speaking English doesn’t make you English (Irish, Australians and Americans send their regards). Hell, I speak Russian. It’s the first language I’ve learned to write in (thanks to USSR education), but I’m not Russian by any possible definition of the word.
