Introduction

From Italy, we now turn our attention to France. This is another post by our great contributor and boobs historian Jhonny.

If you had to name one busty French actress, the first name that would come to mind would probably be Eva Green. To be sure, the latter has made quite a splash during these last two decades thanks both to her femme fatale good looks and to her willingness to show her bare breasts in most of her movies. However, while France is by no means more prudish about nudity than Italy, bosomy French actresses do not seem to become as famous as Italian ones, generally speaking. To add insult to injury, quite a few French nude scenes are part of telefilms of mediocre image quality.These issues notwithstanding, if you have the patience to search a bit, you will find some excellent nude scenes from underrated French beauties.

As in my previous article, I’ll talk about some vintage actresses, and afterwards list some personal recommendations.

Sylvia Sorrente

I couldn’t find much info on her, but she was active during the 60s and seems to have been one of the first French actresses to show nudity. She had a lovely tendency to wear bikini tops that left most of her boobs exposed. The movies where she is topless in are “Eternity for Us” and “Castle of Blood”.

Sabine Demois

Nothing certain is known about this model except that she was active during the 60s.

According to men’s magazines, Sabine studied acting and dancing to appear in movies. However, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, as Sabine neither starred in films nor is known to have performed in clubs. Even so, she seems to have been fairly prolific, judging by the dozens of photos of her available online.

Brigitte Lahaie

One of the very first French porn actresses, Brigitte began her career in 1976, only one year after hardcore pornography became legal in France. Not long after, she worked with director Jean Rollin in four movies, as he felt she had “incredible charisma”. Indeed, her performances were highly praised by fans and even some movie critics, in spite of the fact she had no formal training in acting. During and after the 80s, she got to appear in a few mainstream movies, including one starring Alain Delon.

In 2018, she denounced the MeToo movement as reactionary and puritanical, and nowadays discusses many subjects related to sex on the radio.

Personally, I’d recommend Rollin’s “Les Raisins de la Mort” and “La Nuit des Traquées”. Both are great horror movies and show Brigitte stark naked.

Marie-Hélène Breillat

The innocent-looking Marie-Hélène was a fairly prolific actress during the 70s and a rising star. However, in the early 80s, a serious illness cut her acting career short not long after starring in Ingmar Bergman’s “Fanny et Alexandre” (she’s still alive, though).

She’s known for starring in a series of telefilms based on Colette’s “Claudine” novels. In one of the films, she has a bath scene where she displays her gorgeous breasts and ass. She also posed nude for the French men’s magazine “Lui”.

Sophie Favier

Dancer and actress Sophie Favier was elected “Lui” magazine’s 1983 “girl of the year”. The same year, she performed in nude scenes for two movies, “Venus” and “Lady Libertine”. However, after that, she retired from nude work and went on to work as a TV presenter for various shows.

Patricia Barzyk

Patricia was elected Miss France in 1980 when she was only 16 years old. Her first movie was “Le Soulier de Satin”, which was directed by the Portuguese Manoel de Oliveira. Afterwards, she went on to work with director Jean-Pierre Mocky in many movies, including “La Machine à Découdre” (1986), which contains a very lenghty nude scene that leaves nothing to the imagination.

Her daughter Sarah Barzyk also showed her breasts briefly in 2010 for a series called “Spiral”.

Mathilda May

Mathilda is an actress and director who won the César Award for Most Promising Actress in 1988 and the Romy Schneider Prize in 1989.

Her first nude role was in “Lifeforce” and she’s completely naked during most of the movie. However, I personally prefer how she looked in the Spanish/French film “La Teta y la Luna”.

Laetitia Casta

Arguably the most famous busty French actress besides Eva Green, Laetitia has been in tons of ad campaings over the years and more than 250 magazine covers, including the men’s mag “Lui”. In 1999, she was chosen to model for the new bust of Marianne, the symbol of the French Republic. In 2001, she was voted  number 1 of the top 50 Most Beautiful Women by askmen.com.

Her first nude scene was for “La Bicyclette Bleue” back in 2000, though I like how her boobs look in 2021’s “Lui”, even though you don’t see them for very long.
