The Rise and Fall of Implants

Though I was not overly familiar with the 90s’ boob scene before starting this article, the aforementioned decade never struck me as a particularly good one for breast fans. As it turns out, my assumption was half-right; there were indeed plenty of busty women back then for you to enjoy…if you were into gargantuan implants. Otherwise, forget it.

As I alluded to in my previous article, breast enhancements evolved from a mild trend during the 80s to a full-blown necessity in the 90s. Even Playboy went on to feature models with fake boobs, the most obvious example being Pamela Anderson, who became arguably the most recognizable face of the magazine (even though the natural Petra Verkaik was published more often than her).

This phenomenon probably explains why, when 70s actress Joyce Mandel returned to modelling under the name “Alexis Love” during the 90s, many people thought her much bigger boobs had been the result of surgery.

According to “The Big Book of Breasts”, the 90s obsession for huge beachball fake breasts resulted in women with that kind of enhancement being paid around $3,000 per week for dancing in gentleman’s clubs. Sometimes, the models’ agents made them get fake tits as a contract stipulation.

This fad would see its end as cases continued to pile up of women suffering from intractable infections and gangrene due to post-surgery complications. In 1998, medical supply companies ceased to make fake tits beyond a certain size.

Of course, anyone familiar with models from the previous (and following) decades knows that boobs can grow quite large even without surgery, so the end of basketball enhancements was hardly a great loss. All things considered, though, at least models back then valued large breasts, as opposed to many girls from the 2020s, who chop off their boobs without a second thought.

The Birth of Score

A significant development in Big Boob History was the founding of The Score Group in 1991. Of course, as there wasn’t much alternative at the time, the company shot many augmented models. These included Busty Dusty, Minka, Lisa Lipps and Pandora Picks. On the other hand, of the several monthly adult magazines Score published, one of them, Voluptuous, featured naturally busty women exclusively.

Though Score has always been willing to shoot augmented models, it is also responsible for introducing the world to many women who would become busty legends.

Nowadays, the company is a shadow of its former self, often recycling content made years before, as the vast majority of models prefers to post content on onlyfans.

Danni’s Hard Drive

Leah Manzari, better known as Danni Ashe, is a woman who became famous for all the right reasons- namely for having huge natural breasts and for developing one of the first (softcore) porn sites on the internet in 1995.

Being both a nude model and an entreprenour, Danni is the only woman to appear in both “The Wall Street Journal” and “Juggs”.

Danni’s Hard Drive became a huge hit, not just for its novelty at the time, but also for the quality of its content. The latter included topless interviews with popular busty women, lapdances, POV videos and g/g scenes. During the 00s, a series of adult DVDs were released that focused on big-boobed models such as Aria Giovanni, Nadine Jensen and Veronika Zemanova.

Danni sold the website in 2004, and it was subsequently bought by Penthouse.

Natural Busty Models who debuted during the 90s

Alexis Love (aka Joyce Mandel)

Not a debut, but a triumphant return nevertheless. Joyce resumed modelling in 1993 for Score as her breasts had grown considerably. Tired of accusations that her boobs were fake, she had the UCLA Medical Center confirm they were real.

Alexis Love 1

Angela Melini

Playmate of the Month June 1992. She worked for the magazine for over a decade, not just as a model but also as a feature reporter.

She opened her official adult website in 2002, but closed it 8 years later, as she retired from modelling.

Becky Delos Santos

Playboy’s Miss April 1994.

Carrie Stevens

Carrie is known for being Playboy’s Miss June 1997 and for dating Eric Carr of the band KISS. She was apparently natural when she first posed nude, but said back in 2020 she had since put implants, which she removed that year. She created an onlyfans page in early 2021, but she rarely updates it anymore and her boobs are much smaller. However, for anyone interested, her account is https://onlyfans.com/carriestevens

Jami Ferrell

Playboy’s Miss January 1997. Appeared in many playboy videos.

Karin Taylor

Playboy’s Miss June 1996. Was already working as a fashion model befor posing nude and later turned to acting in a few TV series.

Kelly Gallagher

Playmate of the Month September 1994. Founded her own design firm, and even designed properties for celebrities.

Kerri Kendall

Playmate of the Month September 1990. She apparently still models and has an onlyfans page, though I’ve never subscribed to it: https://onlyfans.com/kerrikendall

Natalie

Model who posed for photographer Craig Morey in 1990.

Shelly Jamison

To be honest, she actually posed for Playboy in July 1989, but I find her too ravishing to not mention. Shelly was a newscaster for Phoenix’s Channel 10. Currently, she works for the Phoenix Fire Department.

Stacy Leigh Arthur

Playboy’s Miss January 1991. She was also Mrs. Ohio for the 1990 Mrs. America pageant.

Danni Ashe is one of the GOATs. The boobs queen of the ’90s and early 2000s.

Wasn’t Shae Marks site much more popular in the late 90s? I seem to remember her site was gigantic and at one point she was more popular than Danni.

Can you update and tell us what happens to Shae? She vanished and her site and images from it can’t be accessed via wayback machine. Same with Amber Smith.
