Introduction

Perhaps the hardest thing to find about vintage models is accurate biographical information. This is not surprising, since they worked before the age of the internet, but there aren’t even any interviews to speak of, except for some dubious stories told in old men’s magazines. These were likely written mainly to entertain and/or titillate readers for the sake of sales.

The present article contains a series of stories, biographical data and trivia I’ve found on certain vintage models. Sources include websites such as IMDB and Vintagecuties, plus some men’s magazines that were sold on ebay or found at vintage-erotica-forums.

Burlesque

Anita Ventura sometimes dressed as Batgirl (except with her boobs out) for shows. Twice, she walked the streets of New York in this attire before being arrested. This, however, did not stop the cops from hiring her as entertainment for a policeman’s ball. While she was performing at the party, a thief snuck into her dressing room at the station and stole her panties.

Some short bios of her claim she married a Mexican comic called Tun Tun, who was only 3 feet, 9 inches tall. However, Spanish biographies of Tun Tun claim he married a dancer called Rocio Gentz. They also say she cheated on him and took all his money. However, there don’t seem to be confirmed photos of Rocio, so it’s impossible to tell whether she’s Anita.

Though she wouldn’t be as scandalous nowadays as she was during her time, Evelyn West was constantly seeking publicity for herself, good and bad. In fact, she was kicked out of a nudist colony precisely because the managers thought she merely wanted to be talked about. Proving their point, Evelyn didn’t resent the expulsion, since it drew attention to her.

Paula Page used to drive vans and apparently began modelling after meeting Harrison Marks. Though she soon became a legend thanks to her incredibly large breasts, she was a bit ashamed of them, as she was always the center of attention even when wearing conservative clothing.

There are rumours that Paula did BDSM and lactation, except with her face covered so she wouldn’t be recognized, but there’s no evidence of this.

Donna Brown was part of a group of models called the “Spider Pool Girls”. The reason for the name is that they posed together at a swimming pool in LA near a tiled wall that depicted a spider. The pool no longer exists but the wall is still standing.

Other models from the same group included the also busty Debbie Westmore and Bobbie Reynolds.

Photography

Rosa Delmai was said to owe her exotic good looks to her Anglo-Portuguese ancestry. Pamela Green, also a model and assistant to Harrison Marks, described her as “not the greatest of models”, since Rosa would move after striking a good pose, unaware that every part of her body (including hands and fingers) had to remain in a certain position.

It is thought that Rosa changed her modelling name to Eve Eden after posing for a few full frontal (and non-airbrushed) shots that caused a scandal.

Before becoming a model and actress, Judy Crowder apparently liked to paint. When a photographer saw her work (and her immediately afterwards), he told her she was too pretty to be a professional painter and asked her to pose nude. He convinced her by saying it would be “artistic” (admittedly, all the nudes I’ve seen of her are tasteful).

Photographer Roger Davis, who worked with some of the same models as Harrison Marks, described the personalities of some of them in an interview:

– Lorraine Burnett was shy and introverted, but an excellent model who usually knew exactly what pose to make. She worked with several other busty girls, including Eve Eden, Della Fox and Jackie Parker. Because of the latter’s resemblance to Lorraine, at least one French magazine referred to them as “sisters”.

Lorraine rarely smiled or even opened her mouth while posing due to having protruding upper teeth which she disliked to show.

– Jackie Parker was a sexy exhibitionist who once flashed Davis in Hyde Park. She was wearing nothing but a top-coat. The photographer always wondered how such a thin girl could have breasts as big as hers without sagging.

– Ann Austin was considered the most exciting discovery of the year (probably 1957) and appeared in Marks’ first “Solo” issue. As a person, she was calm, friendly, well-spoken and intelligent.

Cynthia Myers was 17 when she posed nude for Playboy, though the magazine waited until she turned 18 to publish her photos. And if that sounds young, she was supposedly even younger when she first offered to pose for the magazine.

Myers was a definite favorite of American soldiers fighting in Vietnam. She received hundreds of letters from them and claims to have answered all.

Despite rumors claiming she died in 1982, Roberta Pedon was still alive in 2018. However, she underwent a breast reduction shortly after retiring from modelling, earning her the dubious distinction of likely being the earliest known case of a popular busty model chopping off her breasts.

Linda Frederix once bought an old slot machine she claims gave her a jackpot on her first go. She thought it liked her, took it home and gave it the name “Bertie” after some guy she knew in the past. According to the story, she made her dates play with it while she was getting dressed, and Bertie always ended up with enough money for her to pay her gas bill.

Whether this story is true or not, Linda did shoot several times with a slot machine.

Movies

Tura Satana, famous for playing the violent Varla in Meyer’s “Faster, Pussycat. Kill! Kill!”, was allegedly a juvenile delinquent in real life and learned several martial arts. She claimed she got her revenge on a group of men who assaulted her when she was a child (though, since she wasn’t arrested, her revenge is unlikely to have been particularly violent).

Incidentally, Daktari released a shoot of Hitomi posing as Varla back in 2015.

Ingrid Pitt was one of the bustiest women in Hammer Horror films, and often considered the sexiest. As it happens, she once claimed she was obsessed with breasts herself, especially her own. In spite of this, she doesn’t seem to have ever dated other women.

In all of her best films (“Vampire Lovers”, “Where Eagles Dare”, “Countess Dracula”, “The Wicker Man” and “The House that Dripped Blood”), she either shows cleavage or has at least one topless scene.

Speaking of Hammer, Hazel Court was the first woman to bear her breasts in one of their movies. Though the scene was censored for British and American cinemas, it is thought the movie was shown uncut in continental Europe. Though this version is now lost, Court included a topless still in her autobiography.

Uschi Digard began developing breasts at age 11. By age 15, she was already a 40DD. (in the main photo of this article)

To prove you can’t always trust the internet, Uschi said in 2013 that plenty of so-called biographical data on her is wrong: she wasn’t born in 1948, she’s Swiss and not Swedish, her first name is “Ursula” and not “Uschi”, and she doesn’t use the stage name “Digart”.

Chesty Morgan didn’t get along with Doris Wishman, the woman who directed two movies starring the big-boobed legend. Morgan said she preferred to work with men and that Wishman was unfriendly. On the other hand, Doris claimed she once waited hours for Chesty to show up on set. Chesty claimed she had been sick, but her boyfriend told the director she had gone shopping with him.

Chesty also had a small part in Federico Fellini’s “Casanova” (1976), since the director thought she was a miracle of nature. However, for some reason, the scene was cut.
